Hearing Aids

When the first time I saw people wearing hearing aids, I feel sympathy on them. Sympathy in term that I still have a pairs of ears that still work properly for me but there are not. I am so sorry for them since most of them that I saw still a kids averagely around 7-20 years old.

I try to have a talk with 16 years impaired hearing boys ,I would like to know about his feeling when public or people is talking to him . I try to approach him by asking him a direction of a some places and onwards just a simple chatting. You no what? This boy is actually have a good conversation with me without have any self conscious among us. it is happen for about 15min until I approaching him to talk about his device (hearing aids) plug on the ear. This boy start seem self conscious and look tiny shame. His hold his hearing aids and stop the conversation. I know this boy aren’t happy when people try to talk about his hearing aids. His feel uncomfortable at that time. To make the chatting un-stop, I said to this boy that his hearing aids look cool. You wear wearing a Bluetooth device instead of hearing aids. This boy laugh and giving a smile.
Yap, we had a good conversation actually. After that, I am know little bit hearing aids person personality. There are the same with us unless we are make them different.

Here is several tips that I want to share with you how to communicate with hearing aids impaired person.

1. Impaired hearing person is a human being, same as us. Never look this person weirdly such as there are an alien from other planet. No prejudice will lead a good conversation.

2. Talk or speak to them normally as per we talk to normal person. Mostly, hearing aids user are normally heard what people said to them. The volume of Hearing aids device already adjusted louder than normal to make it comfortable and clear to hearing aids user.

3. Behave of eye contact when talk to them. Try ignore the present of hearing aids on their ears. If not, just assume the hearing aids is a cool or awesome device when plug on their ears.

4. never shout! Same reason as point number 2

By practicing these lesson, we actually are giving a place to hearing impaired person to joint our society without prejudice. It is a pleasure to have these hearing impaired person on our community. Life is for everyone, let make this world happy :)
